ALTEK Employees Volunteer at KSPS Pledge Drive

Taking a small break from providing custom injection molding services September 13th, a group of ALTEK employees, friends and family members headed up to the KSPS Studios on the South Hill of Spokane to volunteer answering phones during the KSPS pledge drive. After eating pizza and attending a thoughtful and organized orientation process, those seventeen people sat in front of phones waiting, with butterflies in their stomachs, for phones to ring so the process of raising money could begin. Money raised during these KSPS pledge drives allows the local public TV station to continue providing family and educational based programming. As calls continued to come in throughout the evening, the volunteers became confident handling the phones and really started having fun receiving pledges and chatting with viewers from all over the world, including many from Canada. Part of the pledge session was live with newscasters in the studio. It was inspiring to watch them do their work underneath the heat of the enormous studio lights. Our volunteers personally received pledges for $8,618 during the course of the evening. Over $200,000 in total pledges came in during the 11-day drive. We would like to thank all who donated and especially those that volunteered. ALTEK (through its Corporate Contributions Committee) is committed to the betterment of our community through the dollars we donate and our volunteer effort.
