CNC Lathe Set Up Operator (Swing Shift)

$22 to $25 Hourly

The CNC Lathe Set Up Operator is responsible for following prescribed standards of CNC operations, Set-ups of prototype and established processes. Responsible for meeting cycle times of those processes in the machine shop.  Should have knowledge of, and be responsible for supporting lean manufacturing principles and teamwork throughout the company. Act as a positive role model in accordance with Altek's desired behaviors. Work with a sense of urgency to promote on time delivery and adhere to the goals and expectations as defined by management.  Swing shift only.  Includes $1/hour shift differential. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • CNC Machining Certificate or minimum of 3 years as a machine shop operator

  • Knowledge and skill to pre-stage raw material, perform set-ups, conduct tool changes, run product and make tool off-sets for proven processes

  • Knowledge of blue print reading and a working knowledge of Geometric tolerancing and calculating

  • Knowledge of mathematical formulas needed to calculate product dimensioning

  • Knowledge and skill with all portable measuring devices used in the production processes here at Altek

  • Must be able to read work instructions, quality documents, and other pertinent written material
