HR Assistant

The HR Assistant supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department and performs a various accounting and administrative duties. Working closely with the HR Manager and the Controller, this role helps support the business by maintaining accurate records, communicating with employees and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required; 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field a plus

  • Minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources, Administration, or a related field

  • Previous front desk, reception, or customer service experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, personnel records or HR administrative processes and employment practices

  • Familiarity or exposure to leave administration (FMLA, PFML, etc.), Labor & Industries (Workman’s Comp) processes preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, or accounting systems a plus

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

MAINTENANCE JOURNEYMAN

The Maintenance Journeyman’s role is providing diagnosis, maintenance and repair to the company’s machines, equipment and various maintenance related needs, promoting teamwork through behavior, acting in accordance with Altek’s Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations defined by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED 

  • AA degree, Apprenticeship/Journeyman Certification preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years in repair and maintenance of manufacturing machines, welding, mechanical and/or electrical preferred

  • CNC Machine repair and maintenance experience preferred

  • Intermediate/Advance knowledge in electronics, electricity, microprocessors, mechanical repair, welding, HVAC, carpentry, blueprint reading, math, maintenance safety, hand and power tools

  • Physically able to meet all the requirements of the position

  • Knowledge and experience with manual machine tools (Bridgeport)

  • Proficient in Word and Excel programs

  • Able to balance multiple projects at one time

  • Time management and prioritization skills

  • Able to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgency

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Certified to train and operate a forklift, scissor lift, crane & rigging 

CNC Mill Set-Up Person

The CNC Mill Set-up Person is responsible for following prescribed standards of CNC operations, set-ups of prototype and established processes, meeting cycle times, promoting on time delivery through their performance efforts, demonstrating knowledge and application of lean manufacturing, promoting teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • CNC Machining Certificate or minimum of 3 years as a Machine Shop Operator

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to accurately read blueprints 

  • Skilled with portable measuring devices used in the production processes at Altek

  • Must be able to read and comply with work instructions, quality documents, and other pertinent written material

  • Working knowledge of GD&T and calculating  

  • Working knowledge of mathematical formulas needed to calculate product dimensioning

  • Knowledge and skills to pre-stage raw material, perform setups, conduct tool changes, run product and make tool off-sets for proven processes 

  • Quality-conscious attitude and pride of ownership in designated responsibilities

  • Should have a reasonably complete set of personal tools to perform set-ups

  • Minimum of 7 years in CNC Lathe setup and machining

  • Experience with various machine tool controls (G-M Codes & Mazatrol a plus)

  • Quality-conscious attitude and pride of ownership in designated responsibilities

  • Ability to accurately read blueprints 

  • Skilled with portable measuring devices used in the production processes at Altek

The CNC Lathe Operator or Set-up Person  is responsible for following prescribed standards of CNC operations, set-ups of prototype and established processes, meeting cycle times, promoting on time delivery through their performance efforts, demonstrating knowledge and application of lean manufacturing, promoting teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.  Available shifts are day shift and swing shift depending on production needs at the time of hire.

  • Experience executing complex, multi-axis machine setups for high-precision jobs on Mazak and/or Mori lathes, preferred

The Production Finisher is responsible for setting up and executing various assembly tasks, including insert installation, fastening, bonding, spot welding, part marking, masking, sanding, pad printing and measuring; adhering to Altek's stringent Quality Standards; following established Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), as well as any new guidelines introduced by the company; promoting teamwork through behavior; acting in accordance with Altek's policies; and meeting the goals and expectations defined by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3 years’ manufacturing experience preferred

  • Ability to use light power tools correctly and safely (Electric Torque Screwdriver)

  • Ability to perform highly repetitive tasks while ensuring safety, cost effectiveness and quality

  • Ability to stand for a full shift

  • Basic computer, reading, verbal, math and written skills

  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color recognition test

  • Ability to read and apply the Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)

  • Ability to communicate and behave effectively with others in a team environment

  • Maintain a high level of quality output

  • Self-motivated 

  • Ability to provide team support and assistance to co-workers as needed
